Less is more. The form was found by searching in print: shapes modeled, 3D printed and tested. The turn came with subtraction. Features were removed until only the core remained.

Two elements: a clean rectangle to lay the joint down, joined to a small cylinder that collects the ash. A strict, minimal separation.

The geometry starts from one slot, tight and exact, that opens into a working basin. The shape grows out of this single physical interaction.

A domestic, personal object, made for the one quiet smoke at the end of the day. Stainless steel, CNC machined. No decoration, no extra parts. Only the weight of the material holding the moment.

Design Decisions

The form was reduced through repeated 3D modeling and printing until a minimal geometry remained. Stainless steel was CNC machined to produce the final object.
